Where To Get Tested
Most clinics offer free and confidential STI and HIV testing. Some clinics will see clients on a drop-in basis, although some require an appointment to be made, so best to check their website or telephone first.
Once at the clinic, you will have a consultation before any testing is completed. You are unlikely to receive your results immediately although some clinics will conduct indicator tests. Further consultation will be provided prior to treatment, prescriptions or immunisations being given. Referrals can also be made to appropriate specialists if necessary. Information on STI's and HIV, safer sex, and risk reduction is available. Staff will answer any questions you may have regarding your sexual health and you may be offered free condoms.
Most importantly, you will be made to feel at ease and details of your visit will be kept strictly confidential.
